Ho Chi Minh City, March 31, 2025 \u2013 Following reciprocal tariff negotiations with the U.S., Vietnam has officially committed to applying a 0% import tariff (zero tariff) on a wide range of American goods under Decree 73\/2025, issued on March 31, 2025.<\/strong> This decision provides a strong boost to the domestic market, while also creating both opportunities and challenges for local enterprises.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

U.S. Product Categories Granted \u201cZero Tariff\u201d Access<\/span><\/h2>\n

1. Wood and Wood Products<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

From hangers, spools, chairs to wooden furniture, U.S. products previously taxed at 20\u201325% now enjoy a 0% tariff<\/strong>.<\/span> The Ho Chi Minh City Handicraft and Wood Industry Association (HAWA) called this a \u201cfast, positive move\u201d that offers dual benefits: cheaper U.S. raw material imports and reduced risk of retaliatory tariffs from the U.S.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Completely Built-Up Automobiles (CBUs)<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Under Decree 73, American cars \u2013 including sedans, SUVs and large-capacity EVs \u2013 previously subject to Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) tariffs of 45\u201364% now face a 0% rate. 32%. This also extends to future reciprocal partners, making U.S. brands like Tesla and Rivian increasingly attractive.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
